Walker Hotel Tribeca occupies a Renaissance-revival tower built in 1900 as a ribbon factory, on the corner of Walker Street and Cortlandt Alley. The 171 rooms are compact, between 135 and 240 square feet, and finished with period detail rather than hotel-standard fittings.

Food and drink run through the building. Seventy Seven Alley is the restaurant, a chef's studio built around seasonality and technique. Walker Rooftop sits above Cortlandt Alley as a planted garden corridor. Saint Tuesday, in the sub-cellar, has live music every night, from gypsy jazz to Brazilian choro. Mostrador and Blue Bottle handle pastry and coffee at street level.

SoHo, the New Museum and the Freedom Tower are all within walking distance.
