Domaine de Fontenille is the house the collection began with, in 2016. A Provençal bastide of the 17th and 18th centuries, it stands in a park of century-old trees near Lourmarin, in the Luberon, about forty-five minutes from Aix-en-Provence.
Forty hectares of organically farmed AOP Luberon vines surround it, on land that has grown wine since 1638; the estate's bottles have been recognised by the Concours Général Agricole and Decanter. La Cuisine d'Amélie cooks from the permaculture kitchen garden, and in summer dinner moves outdoors to the rose garden, over a wood fire.
There are 25 rooms and suites, a heated pool from late April, and Relais & Châteaux membership.
