Fontenille Collection was founded in 2016 by Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher, beginning with a Provençal bastide in the Luberon. It now holds fourteen houses across France, Menorca and Tuscany, each restored in its own region and run as a family home rather than a hotel.
In 2023 it became the first French hotel group to take société à mission status, binding it to its environmental and social commitments. Every French house holds Green Key certification, renovations follow BREEAM standards, and several estates farm their own vines and kitchen gardens. The collection writes its own line as Timeless Homes, Lasting Memories.
