Château de Cîteaux opened in July 2026 in Meursault, minutes from Beaune. The 19th-century château was built over cellars the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux cut in the 12th century to make and keep the wine of these vineyards, so monastic stone sits directly beneath bourgeois rooms.
Eighteen rooms and suites are open in the château itself, decorated after Napoleon III motifs in the colours of the Burgundian vineyard; the Vieux Clos outbuildings will take the estate to thirty-five in January 2027. Célestine is the restaurant, where Christophe Vauthier cooks Burgundian terroir under a restored painted ceiling.
There is an Alaena spa with a heated indoor pool. The Meursault, Pommard, Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet climats around the estate are UNESCO listed.
