Pieve Aldina is a hamlet of the 12th century at Radda in Chianti, on the Chiantigiana road that runs between Florence and Siena. Four historic buildings make up some two thousand square metres of thick walls, tiled roofs, stone porticoes and interior courtyards, with a wisteria climbing roof to roof over a garden of boxwood and climbing roses.
The hamlet takes its name from Aldina Ubaldini, given the estate in 1043. One of its four houses was the summer residence of the Bishops of Siena and is a listed Italian monument; the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Novella next door keeps 16th-century frescoes and can be taken for a ceremony.
There are 22 rooms and suites. Pieve Aldina was the collection's first house in Italy, opening in 2023, and has been a Relais & Châteaux member since.
