Santa Ponsa is a 17th-century Menorcan palace with a red façade, set in a green valley on more than a hundred hectares. Its eight hectares of listed gardens fall away in terraces borrowed from the Alhambra, planted with century-old palms, fountains and over two hundred citrus and fruit trees.
The 22 rooms and suites are spread across the main house, the old barns and garden outbuildings. Albert Riera cooks contemporary Menorcan food at Nura, fed by a kitchen garden of five thousand square metres. The spa is built into the estate's 18th-century stone cisterns, with a covered heated pool, hammam and sauna.
A restored 17th-century gravitational system still collects rainwater into those cisterns and irrigates the gardens. Torre Vella, the collection's other Menorcan finca, is ten minutes away.
